Raleigh measles exposure list updated; UNC Health Rex to pay $150K and revise accommodation policy

Raleigh, NC – March 4, 2026 – State health officials refreshed Raleigh measles exposure details, while UNC Health Rex reached an EEOC settlement.

Measles: Raleigh exposure locations list refreshed

North Carolina health officials updated the state’s public list of measles exposure locations on March 3, including several Raleigh stops tied to a contagious visitor’s trips in early February. The updated list includes specific locations, time windows, and the end date for symptom monitoring connected to each site.

For Wake County, the state list includes a Walgreens on Strickland Road, Everbowl Acai Bowls and O2 Fitness on Alexander Promenade Place, and Harris Teeter stores on Creedmoor Road and Strickland Road. The posting notes that the list is updated as exposure information is reported and verified, and it directs residents to follow the state’s next-step guidance if they were at a listed location during the listed time.

Statewide measles tally updated March 3; no confirmed Wake County cases

A separate March 3 update from WRAL reports North Carolina’s confirmed measles case count at 24 since December 2025. The report says the newest case is not in the Triangle and that state tracking has linked cases to multiple exposure settings.

The WRAL update also notes that Wake County has had reported exposures but no confirmed measles cases. The story lists Wake County’s previously announced exposure sites in Raleigh’s Brier Creek area as part of the broader statewide picture, while confirmed cases have been reported in other parts of North Carolina.

UNC Health Rex settlement: policy and training changes ordered

UNC Health Rex Healthcare will pay $150,000 and implement new policies and training as part of a settlement announced by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), according to a WRAL report published March 2 and updated March 3.

The settlement resolves a federal case tied to a former employee’s religious-accommodation request during the hospital’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate era. WRAL reports the agreement includes back pay as part of the payment and requires Rex to create a stand-alone policy for religious accommodation requests within 30 days, including documented decisions and written explanations for denials, along with a process to seek reconsideration. The settlement also calls for annual training for certain human resources and employee-relations staff.
