Henderson health updates: CCSD student services deal, septic rules clarification, and a 2026 Medicaid waiver
Henderson, NV – March 2, 2026 – CCSD approves no-cost student health services; SNHD clarifies septic rules; state waives Medicaid exclusion rule.
Several health and access-to-care updates this week have implications for Henderson residents, from school-based services to regional public health rules and a state Medicaid policy change.
CCSD approves agreement for no-cost health services
Clark County School District trustees approved a memorandum of agreement with Rejuven Health to provide health services to CCSD students and their families at no cost to the district or to students, according to a district meeting recap posted Feb. 27. The recap lists services that include immunizations, wellness exams, sports physicals, mental health services, and more.
For Henderson families enrolled in CCSD schools, the agreement signals an additional pathway for routine and preventive services outside of traditional clinic scheduling, particularly for time-sensitive needs such as sports clearance.
SNHD clarifies proposed septic regulation updates
The Southern Nevada Health District issued a Feb. 25 statement addressing proposed residential septic regulation updates in Clark County. SNHD said the intent is to modernize regulations, clarify standards, and strengthen groundwater protections. The agency also said a recent public meeting was postponed after about 1,000 community members attended, to allow additional review and discussion.
In the statement, SNHD emphasized that no new permits or fees are proposed for existing septic system owners. Permit renewal requirements would apply only to newly constructed septic systems and to systems that require a construction permit, such as a new system, a replacement tank, or major alterations or repairs. SNHD also described a notification within 30 days of a property sale with a septic system to update ownership records and provide educational materials at no cost.
Medicaid and public option: enforcement waiver for 2026
A Feb. 25 legal update from Holland and Hart reports that the Nevada Health Authority issued a waiver on Feb. 19 related to the state public option rollout. The update says the waiver removes the automatic Medicaid exclusion that would otherwise be triggered for providers who do not contract with at least one public option health plan. According to the update, the waiver is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026 and runs through Dec. 31, 2026.
The same update describes the public option plans as Battle Born State Plans offered on Nevada’s Affordable Care Act exchange at silver and gold levels.
