Community Regional Medical Center announced it will host seven additional UCSF Fresno medical residency positions backed by newly approved federal funding. Blue Shield said Conduent determined an unauthorized third party accessed its environment from October 21, 2024 to January 13, 2025 and obtained some files associated with Blue Shield, which Blue Shield said may have included protected health information.
Blue Shield said the information involved may include names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers, along with medical service information and member or group identifiers. The insurer said it is offering one year of Experian IdentityWorks and provided a toll-free number for questions.
For people focused on where they can seek in-network care, Community Health System has also posted ongoing information about the status of its contract with Blue Shield, noting the contract expiration affects some Blue Shield commercial plans and Covered California PPO members seeking in-network services at Community facilities.
