El Paso Confirms 17 Measles Cases, Lists Public Exposure Sites and Expands Vaccination Clinics
El Paso, TX – March 14, 2026 – El Paso health officials report 17 measles cases and list public exposure sites while expanding clinic vaccinations.
El Paso health officials are responding to 17 confirmed measles cases tied to the area, including four within city limits and 13 reported at the East Montana federal facility at Fort Bliss. The City of El Paso Department of Public Health has issued a public notice identifying potential exposure locations and is expanding access to immunizations at community clinics.
Exposure Locations Identified
According to the city’s Feb. 26 notice, individuals with confirmed cases visited multiple public locations between Feb. 20 and Feb. 22. Listed sites include the Apple Store at Cielo Vista Mall, Del Sol Medical Center, the Outlet Shoppes area, a Target store in the Bassett area, and several restaurants.
Public health officials said contact tracing is underway and that they are coordinating with federal partners regarding the cases linked to the East Montana facility, which falls outside city jurisdiction. The city has provided laboratory testing support and vaccine supply when requested.
Vaccination Clinics and Hotline Activated
To increase access to measles vaccinations, the department is offering weekday walk-in immunization services at four community clinics: Lower Valley at 9341 Alameda Ave., Henderson at 721 S. Mesa St., Northeast at 9566 Railroad Dr., and Westside at 7380 Remcon Cir. Appointments are also available by phone.
The city has activated a measles hotline at 915-212-HELP (4357) and is directing residents to 2-1-1 and EPHealth.com for updated information. Health officials noted that overall measles vaccination coverage in El Paso County remains high but expressed concern about pockets of unvaccinated or under-vaccinated individuals.
Regional Prevention Efforts Receive Funding
Separately, Paso del Norte Health Foundation announced $557,902.83 in grants supporting health initiatives across the Borderplex. Reported awards include funding for United Way of El Paso County, BorderRAC, Action for Healthy Kids, UTHealth Houston, and Texas A&M University’s Colonias Program.
The grants focus on health leadership, disease prevention and management, and healthy living, including youth vaping and tobacco prevention education and broader community health capacity-building efforts.
What Residents Should Know
