CCSD health-services partnership approved; septic rule update clarified; free heart-risk screening held in Henderson
Henderson, NV – March 3, 2026 – Septic-rule update, a new CCSD health-services partnership, and a recent free heart-risk screening drew attention.
School-based health access: CCSD approves agreement with Rejuven Health
The Clark County School District Board of School Trustees approved a memorandum of agreement with Rejuven Health to provide health services to CCSD students and their families at no cost to the district or students, according to a Feb. 27 district recap. Because CCSD serves schools across the Las Vegas Valley, the agreement could be relevant for families in Henderson as details roll out through district channels.
CCSD said the services covered by the agreement include immunizations, wellness exams, sports physicals, mental health services, and additional supports. The district’s recap linked to board documents for the agenda item.
Public health policy watch: Health District clarifies proposed septic regulation updates
In a Feb. 25 statement, the Southern Nevada Health District said proposed updates to residential septic rules are intended to modernize 17-year-old regulations, clarify standards, and strengthen groundwater protections as Clark County grows. The agency said a recent public meeting drew about 1,000 community members and was postponed to allow additional review and discussion.
SNHD emphasized that existing septic system owners would not face new permits or new fees under the proposal. The statement said permit renewal requirements would apply only to newly constructed septic systems and projects requiring a construction permit, such as a new system, a replacement tank, or major alterations or repairs to distribution or leach field components.
The Health District also said the proposal includes a simple notification within 30 days of a property sale to update ownership records and provide educational materials at no cost. SNHD further stated that rural communities and properties served by domestic wells are not subject to connection requirements, and that the proposed regulations do not affect water rights. The statement added that existing systems would not be required to connect to sewer solely because of the updated regulations.
Recent Henderson screening event: free Lp(a) heart-risk test offered Feb. 26–28
A public listing for a Henderson event advertised a free lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) screening held Feb. 26 through Feb. 28 at Prestige Banquet and Event Center on Whitney Ranch Drive. The listing stated insurance was not required and described Lp(a) as a factor not typically included in standard cholesterol testing.
The listing described Lp(a) as potentially genetically elevated and linked to higher cardiovascular disease risk. Organizers encouraged registration while also describing the event as walk-in friendly, noting capacity could affect wait times.
