Banner Health Center in Mesa Expands, Adding Exam Rooms and Behavioral Health Space

Mesa, AZ – March 9, 2026 – Banner Health Center in Mesa completes major expansion, adding exam rooms, behavioral health space and lab capacity for East Valley patients.

A major expansion at a Banner Health Center in Mesa is expected to increase appointment availability and on-site services for East Valley residents.

Banner Health Center Adds Space and Services

The Mesa facility, located at 1917 S. Crismon Road, recently completed a build-out that added more than 19,000 square feet, bringing the center to more than 40,000 square feet in total. The expansion includes 31 additional exam rooms, new medical suites and support areas, and a larger footprint for Sonora Quest Laboratories.

The on-site lab now includes additional blood-draw stations, designed to ease wait times and keep more diagnostic services under one roof. The project also expanded in-office behavioral health services, a growing need across Maricopa County.

According to published reports, three new providers have already joined the care team, with more expected later this year. The added staff and clinical space are intended to improve appointment access for primary and specialty care patients in Mesa and surrounding communities.

AHCCCS System Upgrade Now Live

For Mesa residents enrolled in AHCCCS, Arizona’s Medicaid program, a key technology update took effect March 1, 2026. The agency’s Medicaid Enterprise System modernization includes a new Electronic Data Interchange translator designed to improve how eligibility and claims data move between health plans, providers and clearinghouses.

While the upgrade operates behind the scenes, such system changes can affect how quickly information is processed across the healthcare system. AHCCCS describes the broader modernization effort as a way to replace aging systems and streamline routine operations.

Measles Activity Remains Elevated Nationally

National measles totals remain elevated in 2026, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In a February 27 update, the CDC reported 1,136 confirmed cases nationwide this year, with most linked to outbreaks. Arizona is listed among the jurisdictions reporting cases.

Locally, Maricopa County Public Health continues to post weekly respiratory-virus surveillance updates during the 2025–2026 season. The county also lists an East Valley immunization clinic in Mesa at 1950 S. Country Club Drive for families seeking routine childhood vaccines by appointment.

What Residents Should Know

Expanded clinic space may mean shorter waits and more same-site services for Mesa patients. AHCCCS members should ensure their contact information is current with their health plan.
