Banner Health Center Expansion in Mesa Boosts Appointment Capacity; AHCCCS Upgrade Takes Effect
Mesa, AZ – March 7, 2026 – A major Banner Health expansion in Mesa adds exam rooms and lab space as AHCCCS rolls out a key system upgrade.
A newly expanded Banner Health Center in Mesa is now open with significantly more clinical space, increasing appointment capacity for East Valley residents.
Banner Health Center Adds Exam Rooms and Lab Space
The Mesa facility recently completed a build-out that added more than 19,000 square feet, bringing the center to more than 40,000 square feet in total. The expansion includes 31 additional exam rooms, new medical suites, and expanded support areas.
The project also enlarged the on-site Sonora Quest Laboratories footprint, adding blood-draw stations and additional lab capacity. Banner Health reported that in-office behavioral health services were expanded as part of the renovation, and three new providers have joined the care team, with more expected later this year.
The center is located at 1917 S. Crismon Road in Mesa and serves patients across the East Valley.
AHCCCS System Upgrade Now Live
Arizona’s Medicaid agency, AHCCCS, implemented a new Electronic Data Interchange translator on March 1, 2026, as part of its ongoing Medicaid Enterprise System modernization effort. The update is designed to improve how eligibility, claims, and other data move between AHCCCS, health plans, and clearinghouses.
While the change is technical and largely behind the scenes, system upgrades of this scale can affect billing and administrative processes during transition periods. AHCCCS has described the broader modernization initiative as an effort to replace older systems and streamline routine operations.
Measles Activity Remains Elevated Nationally
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 1,136 confirmed measles cases nationwide in 2026 as of February 26. Arizona is listed among the jurisdictions reporting cases this year.
Maricopa County continues to publish weekly respiratory virus surveillance dashboards during the 2025–2026 season, tracking trends in measles, influenza, COVID-19, and RSV. The county also lists an East Valley immunization clinic in Mesa at 1950 S. Country Club Drive for routine childhood vaccines by appointment.
