Banner Health Center Expansion in Mesa Adds Exam Rooms and Behavioral Health Services
Mesa, AZ – March 10, 2026 – A Banner Health Center in Mesa has completed a major expansion, adding exam rooms, providers and expanded lab services.
A major expansion at a Banner Health Center in Mesa is now complete, increasing clinical space and adding new services for East Valley patients.
The project added more than 19,000 square feet to the facility at 1917 S. Crismon Road, bringing the center to more than 40,000 square feet in total. According to Greater Phoenix In Business Magazine, the expansion includes 31 additional exam rooms, new medical suites and support areas, and a larger on-site laboratory footprint for Sonora Quest Laboratories.
More Appointment Capacity in East Mesa
The added exam rooms are intended to expand appointment availability in a part of Mesa that has seen continued residential growth. The report also notes that three new providers have joined the care team, with plans for additional clinicians later this year.
For residents, the expanded footprint may mean shorter wait times for primary and specialty visits, depending on demand and scheduling.
Expanded Behavioral Health and Lab Services
The build-out includes increased in-office behavioral health services, integrating mental health care within the primary care setting. Integrated behavioral health models are designed to allow patients to address mental and physical health needs in one location.
The on-site Sonora Quest laboratory space was also expanded, adding more blood-draw stations. A larger lab presence can reduce the need for off-site visits for routine testing and follow-up care.
Medicaid System Update Now Live
Separately, Arizona’s Medicaid agency, AHCCCS, has implemented a new Electronic Data Interchange translator as part of its broader Medicaid Enterprise System modernization. The change, scheduled for March 1, 2026, is described by the agency as a back-end upgrade to improve data exchange with health plans and clearinghouses.
While the update is technical, such system changes can affect how eligibility and claims information moves between providers and insurers during transition periods.
Local Healthcare Resources
