A scan of health and healthcare headlines published in the last 144 hours did not turn up three strong, Arlington-specific stories. The most recent Arlington-anchored updates found were earlier in February, along with standing public health information that affects Arlington residents year-round.

Hospital workforce: Texas Health nurses recognized

Texas Health Resources announced Feb. 19 that 36 of its nurses were named to the 2026 DFW Great 100 Nurses list. The honorees include three nurses affiliated with Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital. The recognition is based on nominations and highlights clinical excellence, leadership, and service across the region.

Screening access: Mobile mammograms scheduled for Arlington

Texas Health’s Mobile Health unit lists public-access screening mammogram stops around Dallas-Fort Worth, including a Feb. 19 visit at First United Methodist Church in downtown Arlington. The posted schedule also includes an upcoming Arlington stop on March 10 at Canales Furniture on East Abram Street. The program notes appointments can be scheduled by phone, and walk-ins may be accepted depending on capacity.

Public health and outbreak readiness: vaccines and contact tracing

For residents looking for immunizations, Tarrant County Public Health’s immunization clinics operate as walk-in only (a countywide policy in place since August 2025). The City of Arlington has previously pointed residents to the county clinic on South Cooper Street for MMR vaccination access during measles-related updates. Separate from clinic care, Tarrant County Public Health is also accepting applications for its Ending the HIV Epidemic grant funding program, with an application deadline of March 20, 2026.

Tarrant County’s contact tracing guidance also addresses a common health-insurance concern: contact tracers will not ask for Social Security numbers or bank information, and questions about insurance status are framed around helping connect people to testing or care when needed.

Health insurance: 2026 marketplace plan features for Texas

A Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas update ahead of the 2026 plan year outlined continued availability of ACA marketplace options statewide, including HMO and POS plan designs, and described added telehealth features for 2026 plans (including asynchronous urgent care through MDLIVE and expanded digital mental health tools across marketplace products). Open enrollment for those plans ran through Jan. 15, 2026, according to the insurer.
