APS to Offer Medicaid Enrollment Help and Free Vaccines at March 11 Wellness Festival
Albuquerque, NM – March 10, 2026 – APS will host a community wellness festival Wednesday offering Medicaid and Medicare enrollment help and free vaccines.
Albuquerque Public Schools is opening its doors to families and community members Wednesday evening for a wellness festival focused on health insurance enrollment and vaccinations.
The March Wellness Festival is scheduled for March 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at APS City Center. District officials say the event is open to the broader community and is designed to connect residents with coverage options and preventive health services in one place.
Insurance Enrollment and Coverage Support
According to APS, representatives will be available on site to help individuals and families enroll in Medicaid and Medicare. Information about other affordable health insurance options will also be offered, along with resource tables from insurers and local healthcare providers.
Enrollment assistance events can be especially important for families experiencing job changes, income shifts, or other life events that affect eligibility. APS said the goal is to make it easier for residents to understand their options and complete applications with in-person support.
Free Vaccinations Available
The district also plans to provide free vaccinations during the event. APS listed measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccines for attendees and flu vaccines for children 18 and under as part of the available services.
Public health officials have continued to emphasize the role of routine immunizations in preventing outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases. By offering vaccines alongside enrollment services, APS is aiming to reduce barriers to both coverage and preventive care.
What Residents Should Know
The March Wellness Festival will take place at APS City Center from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11. The event is open to the public, not limited to APS families.
Residents planning to seek insurance enrollment assistance may benefit from bringing identification and any relevant income or coverage documents to help streamline the process. APS has indicated that multiple community partners will be present to provide guidance and answer general questions about available programs.
Events like this are part of ongoing efforts in Albuquerque to expand access to basic healthcare services and preventive resources through schools and community-based settings.
