Endodontists are dentists who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of the dental pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of the tooth. They perform root canal procedures, which involve removing the infected or damaged pulp from the tooth, cleaning and shaping the root canals, and filling them with a biocompatible material. Endodontists also diagnose and treat dental trauma, cracked teeth, and other conditions that affect the tooth roots and surrounding tissues. They may work in dental offices, clinics, or hospitals and often collaborate with other dental specialists to provide comprehensive dental care to patients.
