Dentilife – Hialeah Dental Center is a dental practice that is committed to advancing knowledge of dental practice and improving patient care. The practice is part of the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN), which is a consortium of participating practices and dental organizations dedicated to conducting research in a practice-based setting. The National Dental PBRN aims to support national oral health research studies in dental practices on topics of importance to practitioners and their patients, providing evidence useful in daily patient care and facilitating the translation of research findings into clinical practice.
The National Dental PBRN is supported by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), part of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), and is designed to expand the culture of scientific inquiry in dental schools, foster scientific collaborations between dental students/residents and clinical faculty, and stimulate additional clinical research pursuits among clinically-oriented faculty members and dental students. The network provides practitioners with an opportunity to propose or participate in research studies, conducted in the real-world environment of dental practice with consenting patients, and offers benefits such as the ability to collect data from practitioners about factors contributing to and data from a patient’s perspective.
Dentilife – Hialeah Dental Center is part of this national effort to improve dental care through practice-based research. By participating in the National Dental PBRN, the practice is contributing to the advancement of knowledge in dental practice and helping to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of dental care.
