AdventHealth Opens New 12-Bed Emergency Room in South Orange County
Orlando, FL – March 14, 2026 – AdventHealth has opened a new 12-bed emergency room in Meadow Woods, expanding access to urgent care services in south Orange County.
Emergency care capacity has expanded in south Orange County with the opening of a new AdventHealth freestanding emergency room in the Meadow Woods area.
New Emergency Room Now Open
AdventHealth opened the 12-bed facility on March 10 along South Orange Avenue, adding another access point for residents in Meadow Woods, Hunters Creek and surrounding communities. The approximately 13,700-square-foot emergency room is designed to handle a wide range of urgent medical needs.
The site includes private exam rooms and a trauma bay, along with on-site diagnostic imaging such as CT scans, X-ray and ultrasound. Hospital leaders said the facility also offers respiratory therapy services, a full-service laboratory and an on-site pharmacy to support more comprehensive emergency care.
The new location is managed by AdventHealth Celebration and is intended to bring emergency services closer to growing residential areas in south Orlando.
Part of Broader Central Florida Growth
The Meadow Woods opening comes as Central Florida continues to see population growth and increased demand for hospital and outpatient services. Freestanding emergency departments have become a common strategy among major health systems to reduce travel times and relieve pressure on larger hospital campuses.
By placing emergency care within residential corridors, health systems aim to improve response times for conditions that require immediate evaluation while maintaining connections to their larger hospital networks for admissions or specialized treatment when needed.
What Residents Should Know
The new emergency room operates as a hospital-based ER rather than an urgent care clinic. Residents seeking care should confirm with their insurance provider whether the facility is in network under their specific health plan.
AdventHealth officials said the site is equipped to treat both adult and pediatric patients and can coordinate transfers to other AdventHealth hospitals if inpatient care is required.
Residents are encouraged to use emergency departments for serious or sudden medical concerns and to check with their primary care provider or insurer for guidance on non-emergency services.
If you have urgent symptoms, seek medical care. For general questions, talk with a licensed clinician.
