Use this “watch vs. go” checklist: call your dentist/oral surgeon same day if local symptoms worsen, and go to urgent care or the ER right away if you notice trouble swallowing or breathing, rapidly spreading swelling, severe illness, or CDC sepsis warning signs like confusion, extreme pain, fever/shivering, fast heartbeat/weak pulse, or shortness of breath.
