A counselor is a trained professional who helps people identify, understand, and cope with various emotional and mental health issues. Counseling can be used to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, trauma, addiction, grief and loss, and more. Counselors may work in a variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, clinics, schools, and community agencies.
